Our Caregivers

Our thorough screening process assures that only the most qualified applicants become Millbrook HomeCare Caregivers. It is our philosophy we only hire caregivers that we would be comfortable placing in our own loved one’s homes.

Screening Process

The screening process begins with a telephone interview to determine if the applicant meets our minimum requirement of one year caregiving experience.  We are also assessing their ability to communicate effectively and their professionalism.

A thorough face to face interview is conducted to verify employment history, training and certifications. At this time we also assess their skills and experiences working with seniors. We ask about their desire to work with older adults to determine if they possess the compassion and patience needed to be a good caregiver.

We follow up the interview by personally calling both professional and personal references to determine reliability, trustworthiness and competency. We also perform a Criminal Background Check through the Pennsylvania State Police and/or FBI and obtain a Full Driving History.

Training

All caregivers must attend our initial training and orientation workshop, certify viewing the required on-line videos and satisfactorily pass our competency exam. They must also attend on-going training as required.

Job Satisfaction

Just as with our clients we strive to maintain a good working relationship with our caregivers. At Millbrook we feel our caregivers are our most important asset and we work hard to give them the support they need and the respect they deserve. As a result we have a wonderful staff of dedicated employees who often express to us how much they enjoy working for Millbrook.

Your Peace of Mind

All of our caregivers are bonded and insured. They are our employees of Millbrook and are therefore covered under our workers compensation policy.

We strive to carefully match our caregivers with their clients in both personality and skills. We personally introduce our caregivers to their client on the first day and strive to keep the same caregiver(s) with their client so the client will always know whom to expect. This gives our clients the ability to foster a relationship that is comfortable, feels safe and eliminates confusion.

All Millbrook HomeCare caregivers provide their own meals and transportation. And they can be easily identified by their Millbrook name badge, Millbrook uniform top, and cheery smiles!
